We sit down with the founder of Together Journal and Muse, Greta Kenyon, to discuss womanhood, mentorship, and the power of community.
Greta Kenyon is the founder of Together Journal, New Zealand’s premier bridal magazine. Her impact on the industry is a testament to her vision, work ethic, and ability to cultivate meaningful relationships. Through her work, she has built not only a successful publication, but a community that celebrates creativity, connection, and modern love.
We’re continually inspired by Greta’s perspective and experience as a woman in business. Read her reflections below.
What does it mean to you to be a woman?
For me, being a woman begins with being a mother. It's the role that grounds me and shapes how I move through the world, constantly reminding me what truly matters.
Alongside that, I’m building a brand and business of my own. I am proud to be a woman in business and I hope I am encouraging others. I’m also a friend to many incredible women who inspire and support me in the most meaningful ways.
I think being a woman is about holding all of that at once. It’s about growing, finding balance where you can, and creating a life that feels true to you while staying connected to the people you love and supporting other women along the way.
How has womanhood evolved throughout your life?
As I have grown older, womanhood has come with a deeper sense of responsibility, not just to myself but to other women. I feel a strong pull to lift others up, to support and champion them whenever I can. When I look back, so much of my journey has been shaped by the women who inspire me, backed me and opened doors. Continuing that for the next generation feels both important and natural to me.
How can we better empower and uplift other women?
By leading through our actions and choosing to genuinely support one another. That means championing other women, collaborating, and consciously doing business with them. Small, consistent choices like these create real momentum and lasting change.
What is the legacy you hope to leave behind as a woman?
At the heart of it is my daughter, Zelda. I want her to grow up knowing she is equal, that her voice matters, and that there are no limits on what she can create or become.
Beyond that, I hope to lead my community of women by example, to be both strong and kind, and to inspire other women to back themselves and build something of their own on their own terms.

Bohemian styling in 2026 is entering a refined new era. One where nostalgia meets intention, and self-expression is elevated through craftsmanship. This article explores how modern boho fashion is evolving for women in New Zealand, with a particular focus on footwear as the anchor of the look. Designed for the free-spirited yet discerning woman, this guide unpacks the textures, silhouettes, and styling cues defining the new bohemian mood. Grounded in global fashion direction and translated for the modern muse, this is a guide of how to wear boho now, and make it your own.
The New Era of Bohemian Styling for Women in New Zealand
Bohemian fashion has always been about individuality, but in 2026 it’s more considered, more tactile, and more elevated. For women in New Zealand, where style must move seamlessly between urban life, coastal escapes, and everyday ease. Modern boho is less about excess and more about expression. An ethereal airiness merged with grounded, lived in quality.
This new wave is an ode to personal style. Familiar boho elements are reimagined through contemporary silhouettes, refined materials, and intentional design. Think earthy, sun-warmed suedes, python-embossed leathers, and lace-up detailing, all balanced with clean lines and wearable proportions.
Wild At Heart: The New Boho
This is bohemian cool, distilled.
Rooted in the carefree glamour of the 1970s, the new boho draws on nostalgia without feeling costume-like. Striking snake print textures meet soft suedes, punctuated by subtle metal accents that add a modern edge. Nods toward western style in shape and silhouette, but with a minimal and clean palette. It’s confident but relaxed, expressive without excess.
Designed for the woman who dresses on instinct, this is footwear that tells a story. Grounded yet elevated, nostalgic yet undeniably modern. A muse who is free-spirited in her self-expression, and unapologetic about wearing it her way.
Boho Trends to Know in 2026
Tactile Materials Take Centre Stage
Texture is everything. Suede, embossed leather, and artisanal finishes bring depth and warmth to bohemian styling, adding richness without overpowering an outfit.
Vintage Inspiration, Contemporary Silhouettes
Lace-up details, eclectic layering, second hand pieces, and ’70s references are reworked into streamlined shapes that feel fresh, intentional, and easy to wear. Perfect for modern wardrobes in New Zealand.
Earthy Tones with a Subtle Edge
Neutral palettes dominate, but with attitude. Think warm browns, sun-faded tans, and muted metallic accents that elevate everyday looks.
How to Style Modern Boho Shoes in New Zealand
Everyday Ease
Pair suede boots or lace-up flats with relaxed denim, flowing skirts, or tailored trousers for effortless daily wear.
Statement Dressing
Let textured footwear anchor a minimalist outfit. Think crisp linen, tonal layers, and clean silhouettes that allow the shoes to speak.

Modern boho footwear is designed to move with you, from transitional seasons to year-round dressing, making it a smart investment for New Zealand’s lifestyle.
